Oregon Housing and Community Services Funding Supports More Than 500 Homes Across Oregon

Oregon Housing and Community Services (OHCS) announced funding approvals by the Oregon Housing Stability Council to develop or preserve 480 affordable rental homes and 36 homes for purchase in Newport, Grants Pass, Eugene, Lincoln City, Bend, Portland, and Hillsboro.

“Oregon is one of the greatest states because of the people who call it home and the communities that define it,” said OHCS Executive Director Andrea Bell. “We are grateful to local leaders who are working to ensure Oregon is a state of opportunity for everyday Oregonians, where people can afford to live and raise families.”

The rental investments include new housing for older adults, family-sized apartments, and housing for people with behavioral health needs. The approvals also support rehabilitation of existing affordable apartments, helping residents maintain access to stable housing.

The homeownership investments include homes prioritized for qualified hospital employees and survivors of the 2020 Echo Mountain Fire in Lincoln City, as well as new homes within a resident-owned community for older adults in Grants Pass.

The Housing Stability Council also approved the last available funding for the Older Adult Housing Program (OAHP), which was established through House Bill 3589 (2025) as part of the Senior Housing Development Initiative to expand Oregon's supply of affordable and accessible rental housing. This program is designed to support the expansion of accessible, affordable housing for older Oregonians, enabling them to age in place by leveraging state subsidies.

More detailed information regarding each project can be found in the Housing Stability Council meeting packet.
